BOND ISSUE HOPE: Saugus Union School District officials are optimistic that a $10.2-million bond measure will pass June 8 and that it will head off layoffs of 100 part-time employees and provide money to build two schools. Officials say new schools are needed because of growth in the 6,000-student district. Measure S will require a two-thirds majority to pass. B14
