Despite the loss, With Design said that it had cut expenses and that it expected sales to improve as the company begins shipment of a new line of toys for children.

With Design also reported that Walter F. Cruttenden III and Howard H. Hoffman resigned from the board of directors.

Joining the board is Renee White Fraser, chief executive of Fraser & Associates Advertising Inc. in Los Angeles. With Design also named Nancy Greenberg, formerly a sales manager for Stephen Lawrence Co., as director of sales.
