Visitors to seven national parks last year recycled more than 760 tons of glass, aluminum and plastic, the Interior Department says in a report being released this week.

That was more than three times the amount collected in 1991, the report says. More than 2.1 million pounds, or 1,070 tons, have been collected since 1990 when the program got under way.
