Covina : New Office for the Disabled
The Services Center for Independent Living will open an office in Covina today to assist disabled adults and senior citizens with social services.
A dedication ceremony from 1 to 3 p.m. will include a speech by William Tainter, director of the state Department of Rehabilitation.
The center helps people find housing, fill out government forms and hire assistants for household or personal needs. The center also helps deaf or partially deaf people find an interpreter for job interviews, medical appointments or other needs.
The new office is at 963 W. Badillo St. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments are preferred. Information: (818) 967-0995, or TDD, (818) 967-4401.
