BREA : Imperial Highway Widening Progresses
The first and most extensive phase of the Imperial Highway widening project is nearing completion, officials said.
By next month, officials said, improvements to the sewer, storm drain and water systems on the north side of Imperial Highway should be finished.
In addition, the expansion of the intersection at Brea Boulevard and Imperial Highway, with new left and right turns, is to be completed.
New curbs and sidewalks will also be installed.
In June, construction of the center portion of the highway and storm drain improvements in the Brea Canyon Channel will begin.
Then from October, 1993, to March, 1994, construction will switch to the south side of the highway.
The $18-million, one-mile improvement of Imperial Highway from Berry Street to Randolph Avenue began last August.
It is expected to be completed in 1994.
