SEMINAR: The San Fernando Valley chapter of...

SEMINAR: The San Fernando Valley chapter of the Bible Science Assn. will host a “Back to Genesis” seminar conducted by scientists from the Institute for Creation Research in San Diego. The free seminar, which began Friday night, will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Church at Rocky Peak, 22601 Santa Susana Pass Road, Chatsworth.

COMEDY: “The Big Picture,” a musical comedy about a young girl’s experiences in Heaven, will be presented at 8 tonight and Sunday at Bel Air Presbyterian Church, 16221 Mulholland Drive. Admission is free.

CELEBRATION: A celebration of Israel’s 45th birthday will be held at 8:30 tonight at Temple Ramat Zion, 17655 Devonshire St., Northridge. The event will feature Israeli food and dancing. Information and reserved seats can be obtained from the temple office at (818) 360-1881.

SPECIAL SERVICE: A special Pentecost service will be held during the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Kirk o’ the Valley Presbyterian Church, 19620 Vanowen St., Reseda. The church’s choir will perform a contemporary cantata titled “The Celebration Cantata” and sacred dancer Suzy Nelson of Los Osos will also perform.

ANNIVERSARY: The 200th Anniversary of the founding of the Universalist Church will be celebrated at the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at Emerson Unitarian Church, 7304 Jordan Ave., Canoga Park. Infant care and classes for older children are offered.

VOCAL CONCERT: Singer and songwriter Noel Farr will give a free concert at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Northridge Community Church of the Nazarene, 10650 Reseda Blvd., Northridge.

HUNGARIAN FAIR: In honor of the congregation’s 35th anniversary, the Grace Hungarian Reformed Church will hold a “Hungarian Day” fair from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday with entertainment, live music and authentic Hungarian food. Admission is $3 per person and children under 14 years old are free. The church is located at 18858 Erwin St., Reseda.

LECTURE: A free Christian Science lecture will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the auditorium of Canoga Park High School, 6850 Topanga Canyon Blvd. William H. Hill, a Christian Science lecturer, will speak on “Crisis, Crime and Christianity.” More information can be obtained by calling (818) 340-7024.

MUSICAL GUEST: Composer Randall Leonard will be the musical guest at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Church of the Healing Way, 11050 Hartsook St., North Hollywood. Selections from his acoustic piano recordings, “Angels in the Rain” and “Flutterbys,” as well as his new compact disc, “Melting Snow/Thirsty Flowers” will be featured.

INTERFAITH PANEL: The Interfaith Relations Committee of the San Fernando Valley Interfaith Council will hold a panel discussion titled “What My Faith Means to Me” at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Northridge United Methodist Church, 9650 Reseda Blvd. Panelists include Father James Maronde of St. Martin-in-the-Field Episcopal Church in Canoga Park; Rabbi Aaron Kriegel of Temple Ner Maarev in Encino; William Cinnamon, a liturgist with North Hollywood’s Metropolitan Community Church in the Valley; and Jagdish Pradhakar, representing the Hindu faith. Admission is free.

PROFESSOR SPEAKS: Professor Ron Wolfson will lecture on “Creating Jewish Memories” at 7 p.m. Sunday at Temple Beth Emet, 600 N. Buena Vista St., Burbank. Presented by the Jewish Cultural Series of Burbank, Glendale and Sun Valley and jointly sponsored by four synagogues, the lecture will focus on raising Jewish children and grandchildren in the 20th and 21st centuries. Admission is $7.50 per person, which includes refreshments at a reception following the lecture.

INSTALLATION: The Rev. Stephen Norman will be formally installed Sunday as associate pastor for family ministries at Canoga Park Presbyterian Church. Norman, who has been working in this capacity since April 15, came from the First Presbyterian Church in Munsing, Mich., where he was pastor for eight years. The ceremony is slated for 4 p.m. at the church located at 22103 Vanowen St., Canoga Park.

STORYTELLER: Roslyn Bresnick-Perry--storyteller, author and oral historian from New York--will visit Congregation Beth Kodesh Hebrew School from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday. The school is located at 7401 Shoup Ave., West Hills.
