WAR GENTLEMAN: Old Hollywood's definition of suave and charming usually started with Douglas Fairbanks Jr. His first book, "Salad Days," chronicled his heyday as a dashing leading man. Now, still debonair at 83, Fairbanks has produced a second volume of memoirs, "A Hell of a War," about his illustrious Navy career during World War II. . . . Fairbanks will be at a Balboa Bay Club luncheon in Newport Beach on Monday to share war stories. What prompted this book? Says Fairbanks: "An offer from a publisher."
