Fred Carter, interim coach of the Philadelphia 76ers, is set to be named the team’s permanent coach today. The team called a morning news conference, to which Carter has been invited. Club spokesman Zack Hill said the news conference would be conducted by 76er owner Harold Katz, general manager Jim Lynam and “a coach. Not necessarily a new coach.”
