Moreno Argentin of Italy held a 26-second lead in the Tour of Italy, despite finishing 44th in the fourth stage of the cycling race.
Fabio Baldato of Italy won the fourth stage, outsprinting countrymen Mario Manzoni and Endrio Leoni to the finish at Marcianise.
Greg LeMond, a three-time winner of the Tour de France who has never won the Tour of Italy, was last in 172nd place, 13 minutes 21 seconds behind the winner. LeMond fell to 168th place overall, 27 minutes 22 seconds behind.
