O.C. Companies Honored: The 24th annual West...

O.C. Companies Honored: The 24th annual West Awards in Santa Monica, a regional business-to-business marketing communications competition, honored several Orange County companies Thursday night.

A best-of-show award went to the Los Angeles agency Speer, Young & Hollander for the communications program it developed for Silicon Systems in Tustin. The agency also won an award for its work for Hughes Interconnect Systems in Irvine.

Santa Ana agency Roberts, Mealer & Co. won four awards for work done for the city of Santa Ana, Taylor-Dunn in Anaheim and Cymbolic Sciences International in Aliso Viejo.

The competition, sponsored by the Business Communications & Marketing Assn. in Los Angeles, recognizes creative impact, effectiveness of results and excellence of production in 50 categories.
