OXNARD : 2 Suspects Sought in Beating, Shooting
Police are searching for two suspects who attacked and shot a 24-year-old man at a south Oxnard convenience store while employees and customers ran for cover.
According to police, Savino J. Trebizo was talking on a pay phone outside the 7-Eleven store at 2201 E. Channel Islands Blvd. when two men exchanged words with him and began beating him.
The fight moved inside the store, where one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting Trebizo once in the left hip as he ran in front of a counter, Sgt. Chuck Hookstra said. Both suspects then fled on foot.
Trebizo was treated for his wound at St. John’s Regional Medical Center and later released. He told police he recognized one of his assailants from a fight more than a year ago.
