Trevor Wilson pitched 5 1/3 shutout innings and hit a home run as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3-2, Saturday at San Francisco.

Wilson (3-3), who was on the disabled list last month because he suffered from tendinitis in his shoulder, hit his home run in the third inning against knuckleball pitcher Tim Wakefield (3-6).

“I hit it good, but I was surprised it went out,” Wilson said. “The ball barely dipped over the 328-foot sign down the right-field line.”
