San Dimas : Cost of Water May Go Up

Share

Residents will see their water bills surge by about $7 a month if their water supplier receives state regulatory approval for a proposed rate increase.

The Southern California Water Co. has requested a 20.5% increase in rates because it will begin paying more for water it buys from the Metropolitan Water District.

If approved by the Public Utilities Commission, the increase would cause the average residential water bill to jump from about $33 a month to roughly $40.

Last week the City Council directed its staff to send a letter to the PUC expressing concern over the sharp rate increase, and several more that the water company expects to request over the next few years.
