State Air Toxics Reporting Rules Eased: The California Air Resources Board said it will streamline the paperwork for businesses reporting airborne emissions of 700 toxic substances. The 200 industrial facilities believed to pose the greatest potential risk to public health must still turn in detailed reports. But the 80% of businesses and government agencies that have far lower emissions will be able to replace as much as 100 pages of reports with a two-page form that can be filed by computer. The ARB estimates that businesses will save $14 million annually.
