Chrysler May Produce New Small Car Early: Encouraged by designers’ and engineers’ progress on the company’s new Neon small car, Chrysler Corp. said it is thinking about starting production Nov. 1--a month sooner than expected. The move, first reported by Automotive News, would allow Chrysler to almost double first-year Dodge and Plymouth Neon output to more than 160,000 units, but Chrysler spokeswoman Terri Houtman said no final decision has been made on early production.
