Malibu Comics Launching New Super-Hero Line
Malibu Comics Entertainment Inc. in Westlake Village said it is launching a new line of original super-hero comic books.
Malibu, one of the nation’s five largest comic book publishers, said its Ultraverse line is being assembled by a group of veteran writers and artists who have worked on such popular titles as “Superman,” “Batman,” “The Avengers” and “Green Lantern.”
The company said it is launching a $1-million national advertising campaign to introduce the Ultraverse comics. It will include television ads on MTV/VH-1, Nickelodeon and the USA Network.
It also said it is exploring video, toy, game and other merchandising tie-ins with the new characters.
