Rupert Murdoch Negotiating for Stake in Hong Kong TV Company: His News Corp. said it is in the advanced stages of negotiating for a 22% stake in Television Broadcasts Ltd., Hong Kong’s leading TV broadcaster. TVB plans to launch a Mandarin-language satellite TV channel to Taiwan and other Southeast Asian markets. The relationship could significantly expand Murdoch’s TV presence in a region poised for major growth. News Corp. would acquire its stake from the Shaw Bros. and Kerry Group.
