Reason for CSUN’s Low Graduation Rate
* Who’s kidding who? The principal reason for Cal State Northridge’s dismal graduation rate is the fact that CSUN demands substantially more general education and graduation requirements than the typical four-year university, yet has been offering only 30% to 50% of the classes needed for students to fulfill these requirements within a four-year time frame.
This is not something new. CSUN has been consistently doing this for at least 15 years!
If CSUN is truly sincere about increasing its graduation rate, it must redesign its programs and curricula to match what it can realistically expect to offer.
