ICM’S Wiatt Named to USC Advisory Board

International Creative Management President James A. Wiatt has been named to the USC School of Cinema-Television’s board of councilors, an advisory group made up of major names in the entertainment field.

Wiatt, a 1969 graduate of USC, is the first new member added since the board was formed early last year. Other members include Barry Diller, David Geffen, George Lucas, Marvin Davis, Sidney Poitier, Steven Spielberg and Frank Price, the group’s chairman.

TriStar Pictures’ Michael Besman has been promoted to executive vice president of production for the studio. He formerly was senior vice president of production.

Publishing

Veteran media executive Joseph F. Barletta was named president and chief executive of TV Guide, which is owned by media baron Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. Barletta, 56, succeeds Joseph W. Cece as president.

Cece was named last month to a post at News America Publishing, TV Guide’s parent, where he will work on an electronic version of TV Guide.

Music

Sony Music Entertainment has named Robert Bowlin to the new position of executive vice president. He was also named senior executive vice president of Sony Music International.

Bowlin, 40, joined Sony Music in 1991 as chief financial officer from Price Waterhouse, where he was a partner specializing in the entertainment industry.
