Magazine Purchase: Freedom Newspapers Inc., publisher of the Orange County Register, said Friday that it has purchased World Trade magazine. Based in Newport Beach, the magazine claims 52,435 subscribers nationwide and is carried on American and Northwest airlines flights. The purchase price was not disclosed. The magazine, founded in 1988 by Andrew J. Lawler, averages 150 pages per issue and features short stories on international trade, sales and marketing. Lawler and the magazine’s staff will continue to operate it, Irvine-based Freedom said.
