Dollar Mostly Higher in Overseas Trading: The greenback gained value against most major currencies on foreign markets, while oil prices rose and gold fell. The dollar finished at 109.05 yen in Tokyo, up 1.12 yen from Friday’s close. In London, the British pound was quoted at $1.511, up from $1.508 Friday. Against the German currency, the dollar rose to 1.697 marks from 1.695 on Friday. Gold traded in London at $387.50 an ounce, down from $388.25 an ounce late Friday. Silver traded in London at $4.87 an ounce, unchanged.
