A Beverly Hills man died after the car he was riding in slammed head-on into a van on Harbor Boulevard in Oxnard, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

Moussam Songhorian, 78, was pronounced dead Sunday evening at Ventura Regional Medical Center, Ventura County Coroner Dale Zentis said.

David Hidalgo, 36, of Oxnard was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after his car sideswiped the auto in which Songhorian was riding, pushing it into the path of the van, CHP officials said. Hidalgo was not injured in the accident.
