The warship David R. Ray, which had been scheduled to visit a Port Hueneme Navy base for a public open house this weekend, has been called for another assignment, Navy officials said Tuesday.
But the warship Wadsworth, which carries Harpoon missiles in addition to the Phalanx weapon system, will dock at Port Hueneme today and will be open for public tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Tomahawk missile system, which was used in the recent strike against Iraq’s intelligence headquarters, will also be on display during an open house at the Port Hueneme Division Naval Surface Warfare Center from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Visitors are asked to enter the base through the Pleasant Valley Road gate.
