MONTEBELLO — The Police Activities League, sponsored by the city Police Assn., has received a $15,000 donation from Montebello Town Center to establish a boxing program.
The league is a program for boys and girls ages 6 to 18 to teach them values and discipline and give them a sense of community involvement. The program stresses respect, especially for the elderly and the disabled, and the need to help protect younger children.
Montebello police officers are in charge of all the league’s programs. The boxing program will be headed by Bob Tufano and John Montelongo.
Information: Kathy Salazar, the league president, at (213) 728-0210.
