TOKYO — About 100 students chanting slogans and blowing whistles marched through central Tokyo on Wednesday to protest the summit of the world’s richest nations being held here.
The students, many wearing red safety helmets, dark glasses and scarves, carried colorful banners denouncing the summit and lambasting host nation Japan’s efforts to become a permanent member of the U.N. Security Council.
One protester said the exclusive club of rich nations has no right to set the entire world’s political and economic agenda.
