EFData Chief Joins Satellite Tech Board

Robert C. Fitting has joined the board of directors of Satellite Technology Management Inc. in Costa Mesa. He is founder and chief executive of EFData Corp., a satellite telecommunications equipment manufacturer in Tempe, Ariz.

* Dennis Sitar has been appointed president of Nature’s Way Inc., an Orange distributor of organic plant food and soil conditioner products. He succeeds Mike Varner, who resigned. Sitar has been with the company since it was established a year ago as the retail consumer market distributor of Gro-Power products.

* Larry Curran and Jeff Czerwinski have been appointed to head the newly created Corporate Finance Group of Bentley, Richards & Associates, an Irvine investment banking firm. The new division will help secure financing for public and private companies. Curran and Czerwinski both came to Bentley, Richards from Income Network Co. in Irvine.

* Bryon C. Ward and Brad Schroth have been appointed senior vice presidents with the Newport Beach office of Grubb & Ellis Commercial Real Estate Services. Ward, who joined the company in 1983, and Schroth, who joined in 1982, were previously vice presidents.

* Mike Sapounakis has been promoted to construction manager for Birtcher Construction Ltd. in Laguna Niguel. He will be responsible for general overview of all Birtcher Construction projects as well as monthly job cost analysis. Sapounakis will also continue his duties as senior project manager at Sea Bluffs in Dana Point.

* Chuck McGibbon has joined the Los Alamitos food brokerage company Advantage Sales & Marketing as senior vice president of sales and promotions. He was formerly president of Bromar, Southern California. Woody Purdue has been appointed vice president, produce division. He had previously been senior account manager for Chiquita Brands and senior vice president for Bradshaw, South. In addition, the company promoted Dean Hampton to senior vice president, perishables; Walt Gallagher to senior vice president, non-perishables; and Kevin Paugh to senior vie president, marketing.

* Joel Nathan has been appointed chief of service for Kaiser Permanente’s Chemical Dependency Recovery Program in Orange County. He previously worked for the same program at Kaiser’s medical office in Carson.

* Dale W. Herring has joined the Bank of Newport as vice president, Small Business Administration Lending division. He has more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry.
