LONDON —
Three armed robbers stole diamonds worth more than $7.5 million in a raid on a jewelry workshop in central London on Thursday, police said.
The haul included a heart-shaped 25-carat white diamond the size of a cherry that was worth $2.2 million. It was due to be used as the centerpiece of a brooch.
Police said the robbers, wearing stocking masks and brandishing pistols, raided the Graff workshop in London’s Hatton Garden gemstone district, tied up four staff members and ransacked the safe.
