* 1/2 Subject to Change, “Womb Amnesia,” Capitol. Actress Cree Summer Francks’ sophomoric lyrics and tinny voice render this debut album nearly unlistenable, all but obscuring the strong funk rock of guitarists Tori Ruffin and Greg Bell. “One Life,” a jazzy eight-minute rant against racism, is strong, but too much of the album is hampered by sanctimonious messages.

New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
