PLACENTIA : Council to Consider Carwash Project

Share

The City Council tonight will consider an appeal of a decision to allow an automated carwash on Imperial Highway west of Rose Drive.

The Planning Commission granted a use permit to Walter Lowther to build Placentia Auto Spa, which includes gas pumps and quick-lube services.

Warren Parchan, who lives on Golden Avenue south of the proposed carwash, appealed the commission’s decision, citing noise and traffic concerns.

In his appeal, Parchan said that the carwash lot was inadequate in size and that the zoning for the area was improper.

Parchan also argued that the decision was inconsistent with a noise pollution report and that the commission ignored potential traffic congestion and public concerns over the plan.

The council will hold a public hearing on the appeal during its regular session, which starts at 7:30 p.m.
