Nominees for the local Orange Blossom Special chapter of the California Country Music Assn.’s 1993 awards will perform for judges and the public at Santa Ana’s Crazy Horse Steak House on Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Headlining the day’s entertainment by acts that regularly play Orange County will be American Made, Doo Wah Riders, Justice and Tuners, all vying for best band. Prizes, raffles and dancing for the audience will be offered. Deejay Kim Novak will emcee.

The annual awards recognize male and female vocalists, dance teams, dance instructors, nightclub deejays and a variety of musicians.

The CCMA Orange Blossom Special chapter encompasses Orange County, Long Beach and Lakewood. About 60 individuals have been nominated this year. Winners will be announced at the Crazy Horse on Sept. 12 and will then go on to a statewide competition in October, 1994.

The lag time between Sunday’s show and September’s announcement of winners, and between the local and statewide competitions, reflects efforts to avoid scheduling conflicts among the CCMA’s many chapters’ contests.

Tickets: $2.50 for children, $7 for adults. Information: (714) 549-1512.
