Montrose : Sidewalk Project to Begin
A sidewalk construction project will begin in August along Waltonia Drive and Del Mar Road, county officials announced.
Existing through-traffic lanes will be open on Waltonia Drive, but Del Mar Road will be open only to local traffic.
The sidewalk along Waltonia Drive, from La Granada Way to Hilldale Drive and on Del Mar Road west of Mira Vista Avenue, is expected to take two weeks to complete. It is hoped the work will be done by September, officials said.
The county in June awarded a $26,400 contract to Padilla & Sons Co. of Sylmar for the project. The company submitted the lowest of nine bids that ranged as high as $53,500, said Dawson Oppenheimer, an aide to Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.
