Long Beach : School Board Meetings Changed to Tuesdays
Beginning Aug. 17, the Long Beach Unified School District board will meet on Tuesdays.
The board has met on the first and third Mondays of each month, but members voted last week to change the day because many holidays are observed on Monday.
School district spokesman Dave Vilter said board members have been meeting on Mondays since at least the 1960s. The board will continue to meet at 5 p.m. at the district offices at 701 Locust Ave.
