GUNS RELOAD: Guitarist Slash is reportedly concerned that a recent lengthy European tour has caused American rock fans to forget about his band, um . . . now what’s its name?

Seriously, he needn’t worry.

But just in case, a barrage of Guns N’ Roses-related activity is coming in the next few months. First up is a solo album by bassist Duff McKagan, titled “Believe in Me” and due on Sept. 14. Among the guests on the album, which was recorded in numerous locales around the world during GNR’s tour, are Slash, Jeff Beck, Lenny Kravitz, Skid Row’s Sebastian Bach and GNR members Gilby Clark, Dizzy Reed and Matt Sorem, with songs ranging from bratty punk to a romantic ballad with strings. McKagan has put together a band for a tour to support the album.

Meanwhile, GNR itself is finishing up a long-discussed album of old punk songs, which could be released by Christmas. The band is also shooting a video for the song “Estranged,” the next single from the two-year-old “Use Your Illusion” pair of albums, and has started editing a documentary drawing mostly on footage shot during the last two years on the road.

And there’s more: Word is GNR is making plans for a few “big” concert events before returning to the studio, perhaps early next year, to begin work on a new album.
