Simi Valley officials are looking for a senior citizen to be the city’s alternate on the 19-member Ventura County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council.

The advisory panel--which includes appointees from cities, supervisorial districts and groups that serve older residents--meets in Ventura at 9 a.m. on the second Wednesday of each month.

The panel makes recommendations to the Ventura County Area Agency on Aging, which oversees assistance programs for the elderly. The alternate panel member will serve a two-year term. Simi Valley’s alternate must be a resident of the city, age 60 or older.
