15,000 Ford Escorts Recalled: After a routine check by the Environmental Protection Agency showed that the cars failed to meet emissions standards, America’s No. 2 auto maker announced the recall of 1988-90 Escorts equipped with 1.9-liter engines. Car owners may return their vehicles to the dealership to have the catalyst assemblies replaced for free.
