Leslie’s Poolmart, a Chatsworth-based retailer of swimming pool supplies, said profits surged 32% in the second quarter, to $6 million from $4.52 million in the same period a year earlier.

The company’s revenue for the three months that ended June 30 rose 30%, to $54.9 million from $42.2 million. Brian P. The company also operated more stores, 158 as of June 30 compared with 130 a year ago.

For the six months that ended June 30, the company posted a profit of $2.4 million, up 38% from $1.74 million a year earlier. Revenue for the six months increased 27%, to $66.6 million from $52.6 million.
