College to Showcase Interactive TV Link
The Ventura Campus of Cal State Northridge will show students and visitors on Aug. 23 how an interactive television link to the home campus can expand course offerings and student services in Ventura.
Students and staff in Ventura will talk with CSUN President Blenda J. Wilson through the new technology.
“The technology allows resources from anywhere in the world to be brought into the classroom,” said Dan Wakelee, an assistant to Ventura Campus Director Joyce M. Kennedy. “It can be used for face-to-face teleconference meetings or classroom instruction, and a host of other activities.”
This fall, the new system will be used to offer one psychology and two health science courses in Ventura. One of those classes will be taught in Ventura and transmitted to the Northridge campus.
The public is invited to the open house beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Ventura Campus at 2151 Alessandro Drive, Suite 140, Ventura. For more information, call Wakelee at 656-3606.
