MID-WILSHIRE : Assistant Police Chief to Speak on Policies

Assistant Chief Bernard Parks, director of operations for the Los Angeles Police Department, will be the featured speaker at a community meeting Friday at Third Street Elementary School, 201 S. June St.
Parks will talk about community-based policing, patrol services and the transitional process under way within the LAPD, said Marie Gaines, president of the Wilshire Area Community Coalition, which is holding the 7 p.m. meeting.
Following his presentation, Parks will answer questions from the audience.
