5 Die in Turkish Shootout
ISTANBUL, Turkey — Turkish police killed five leftist militants, members of Dev-Sol (Revolutionary Left), in a shootout Friday in Istanbul, a senior security official said.
Police said the leftists were armed and opened fire first.
