COUNTYWIDE : Red Cross Warns of Fraudulent Solicitors
American Red Cross officials are warning county residents to beware of phony solicitors who claim to be affiliated with the Red Cross.
Recently, a Las Vegas-based organization calling itself the Gleaners has been seeking large monetary donations from Orange County residents, according to Red Cross officials, who added that the Gleaners are not affiliated with the Orange County Red Cross or the American Red Cross.
People solicited by an organization claiming to be associated with the Red Cross are asked to verify the information with their local Red Cross chapter at (714) 835-5381.
