Software Maintenance Firm Signs Contract With GM Unit

Software Maintenance Specialists, a computer software company, has signed a three-year pact with an Irvine subsidiary of General Motors Corp. to provide data processing services.

The contract with Packard Hughes Interconnect of Irvine, a maker of electronic components, is part of Packard Hughes’ refocusing from governmental work to commercial contracts, the company said.

Software Maintenance Specialists in Santa Ana will provide computer services for Packard Hughes’ manufacturing operations, including customer order processing, inventory control and assembly-line monitoring.
