Justice Department Investigates Microsoft: The agency said it is picking up from a Federal Trade Commission inquiry into alleged antitrust activity by the dominant personal computer software company. In the three-year investigation, FTC commissioners have twice deadlocked and failed to approve any action against Microsoft, which vowed to cooperate fully with the Justice Department probe. The FTC closed its investigation.
