Pacific Sunwear of California Inc.: The Santa Ana retailer of young men’s clothing posted a profit of $820,000, or 16 cents a share, for its second fiscal quarter. That was down 23% from earnings of $1.1 million, or 36 cents a share, for the same period last year. Sales for the period ended Aug. 1 rose 12%, to $12.7 million from $11.3 million. First-half profit was down 12%, to $956,000, or 19 cents a share, from $1.1 million, or 38 cents a share. Six-month sales increased 16%, to $23.4 million from $20.1 million.
