SCHOOL DAZE: Breaking up is not so hard to do in the Antelope Valley, where Palmdale wants to go solo, taking its high schools out of the A.V. Union High School District (B7). . . The move follows in the footsteps of smaller communities of Acton and Agua Dulce, which earlier cut the cord. Palmdale wants to unify its school district, which already oversees the city’s elementary schools.

THE GOOD LAWYER: Columnist Scott Harris discovers that the attorney killed last month by a crazed gunman was not the kind who attracted lawyer jokes. . .
