Atlantic Records Names Executive VP-General Manager

Val Azzoli has been named executive vice president and general manager of Atlantic Records.

Azzoli previously was Atlantic’s senior vice president and general manager. Atlantic Records is part of Atlantic Group, a Time Warner unit.

Separately, Atlantic Group named Tony O’Brien senior vice president and chief financial officer.

O’Brien was previously vice president and controller of Atlantic Records, a division of Atlantic Group. O’Brien joined Atlantic Recording Corp. in 1986 as general manager of the Atlantic Studios recording facilities.

* Betsy Alexander has been named director of international marketing at Hollywood Records. She was director of sales and marketing at Sony Music International.

* Eve Szurley has been named vice president of television development at MTV Productions. Szurley, who was vice president of creative development at Fox Broadcasting Co., will oversee development and production of TV series for sale to other networks and first-run syndication.

* Robert T. Fleming is the new senior vice president of finance and administration for Fox Inc.’s Basic Cable unit. He will head financial operations.

* Jonathan Wolf is the new senior vice president of business development and administration at the American Film Marketing Assn.

* The Domestic Television Division research department at Paramount Television Group has named Dawn Abel vice president, Ann Foster director and Eric Steinberg director.

* Pamela Senatore is the new international sales manager with Zodiac Entertainment, an animated-television producer and distributor. She previously worked at Century Group, a Los Angeles program distributor.

* Concepcion Lara has been named vice president at Fox Latin American Channel, the new satellite cable service launched by Fox Inc. earlier this month. Lara, who was previously director of business development at HBO, will oversee programming, on-air promotions and marketing.
