* Richard A. Baumgartner, president of American Sterling Financial Corp. in Lake Forest, has been appointed to the additional post of executive vice president of American Sterling Corp., the parent company. Baumgartner joined the company in 1992 to plan and launch American Sterling Financial Corp., which originates and services loans for automobile dealers. He previously headed his own company, Cresendo Systems, a developer of software systems for commercial lenders.
