CYPRESS : Teamster Is Named to Cable TV Panel
Louie Giampapa has been appointed to serve on the Cypress Cable Television Commission, filling a vacant seat created by a resignation in June.
Giampapa, 41, a 15-year Cypress resident, will be sworn in at the Sept. 13 City Council meeting.
Former Commissioner Richard Adams resigned because he didn’t have enough time to devote to the post, city officials said.
Giampapa, who is vice president of Teamsters Union Local 692 in Long Beach, will serve a four-year term on the eight-member commission.
“I think it will be challenging,” he said. “It gives me the opportunity to have some input and find out what’s going on with cable and local programming.”
