Honda Motor Co. Unveils New Accord: The redesigned, sportier model is viewed as the Japanese auto maker’s best hope to reclaim from the Ford Taurus the title of best-selling car in the United States. The base DX model of the fifth-generation Accord will cost $14,330, the same as the 1993 model despite the addition of dual air bags, more interior room and side impact protection. The price of the LX will rise $300 to $17,230, and the top-of-the-line EX model will rise $400 to $21,550. Traditional American cars already hold about a $2,500 price advantage on comparable Japanese models.
