Emulex Reports Profit of $3.5 Million for 1993

Emulex Corp., the Costa Mesa computer products company, reported a profit of $3.5 million, or 32 cents a share, for fiscal 1993. That contrasted with a loss of $23.4 million, or $2.16 a share, for fiscal 1992.

The company said the loss in the previous year was primarily because of the discontinuance of its end-user DEC storage business. Revenue for the year ended June 27 was up 6% to $107.2 million from $101.3 million. For the fourth quarter, profit was $845,000, or 8 cents a share, contrasted with a loss of $19.6 million, or $1.78 a share, a year earlier. Three-month revenue declined 3% to $27.9 million from $28.7 million.
