“The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” which won a whopping 27 Emmy Awards during its 1970-77 run on CBS, is now available on 10 home videos. The show is generally considered one of the best, if not the best, in television history.

Three cassettes have special themes. One, “Mary’s Greatest Dates,” combines two memorable shows: “Lou Dates Mary” and “Mary Richards Falls in Love.” The second, “Ted’s Funniest Moments,” packages two more. One features Ted Baxter’s encounter with Walter Cronkite, the other his rumor-spreading “Affair to Forget” with Mary, who is not very successful trying to deny the story.

The third special reel may well be the most famous episode of the series, Emmy winner “Chuckles Bites the Dust.” In that one, Chuckles the Clown dresses up as a giant peanut to marshal a parade but is “de-shelled” by an elephant, which sets the stage for a most outrageous and memorable funeral.

Each video, being distributed by UAV, has a running time of 50 minutes and is listed at $9.99. Seven contain two unedited classic episodes. They are: 1. “Love Is All Around” (premiere) and “Today I Am a Ma’am.” 2. “Bess, You Is My Daughter Now” and “Divorce Isn’t Everything.” 3. “Support Your Local Mother” and “Keep Your Guard Up.” 4. “Toulouse-Lautrec Is One of My Favorite Artists” and “The Snow Must Go On.” 5. “Assistant Wanted, Female” and “Bob & Rhoda & Ted & Mary.” 6. “1040 or Fight” and “Anchorman Overboard.” 7. “He’s All Yours” and “Howard’s Girl.”
